“THINKING INSIDE THE BOX”

SPACE – FORM – COLOUR – TEXTURE – LIGHT – BRAND – EXPERIENCE – EMOTION

Interior Design explores the relationship between interior spaces and the human experience/interaction in those spaces. Through structured analysis, research and exploration, Interior Designers create experimental, imaginative and stimulating environments, in specific locations, for specific user groups, with projects drawn from the Arts, Workplace, Leisure, Exhibition, and Retail.

The course supports close links with the design industry, and many of the design briefs given are collaborative in nature, working closely alongside other design disciplines, for example with graphic design, where brand is explored in both two dimensions and three dimensions, allowing for cohesive and imaginative branded Interior design solutions.

On the course you will challenge and explore your 3d interior design thinking, and develop skills through sketching, orthographic drawing, CAD, computer suite packages, model-making, photography, printmaking, perception of colour and light, brand identity / tone of voice and both visual and physical presentation techniques – all of which are essential requirements for the professional interior designer.
