BA(Hons) Fine Art

This course focuses on the two-dimensional Fine Art disciplines of painting, drawing and printmaking and mark making.Drawing on the essential fields of art history and contemporary art, students are supported and encouraged to establish strong interests and concerns, leading to a rigorous Fine Art agenda.

This is a diverse, challenging and enriching course where you will encounter an ongoing debate about the progression and value of Fine Art and its context in an increasingly digital society. We embrace the intrinsic value of the fine artist in this society and embed the essential skills of painting, drawing and printmaking as well as contemporary media.

Key ideas and contexts are explored, comparing contemporary and historical examples through which you will learn to put your own practice into context. You will learn to think in an independent, creative and critical way, helping you to produce distinctly personal work.

At the University of Bedfordshire you will find a close-knit, friendly and supportive environment where your creativity and knowledge are expanded through experimentation, reflection and critical debate.
