BA Photography & Video Art and Contextual Studies lecturer Gemma Marmalade will be presenting her first major UK solo exhibition this Summer. Green Fingered (2015) combines photographic prints, an immersive video installation and newly commissioned site specific works that explore the possibility that those of homosexual persuasion are more likely to have a visceral impact on the cultivation of plants. At a time when research continues to find the ‘gay gene’, Green Fingered coalesces aspects of gender and cultural studies with biological science through provocative visual experimentation.
