On Friday 24th January, Interior Design and Advertising Design students hosted a collaborative ‘private view’ exhibition. The SHOPTALK project allowed students to explore the interaction between three-dimensional space and brand application in retail design – this relationship between 2d and 3d designers replicating that seen in professional design practice.
Both the project brief and private view were based in the spaces of Viabizzuno Lighting, Great Titchfield Street, London W1. This location was used as ‘a live site’ for this project, and allowed students to fully explore the constraints and opportunities of real space and environment in their design proposals.
This project was also supported by Marks + Spencer Ltd, DisplayPlan Design Consultants Ltd and Chilfen Joinery Ltd. These industry links were involved both front end of the project ( with an inspiration day /design workshop at their studios, and joinery workshopHi visit ) and at the project end: with support and feedback given to all students at the private view.
University of Bedfordshire lecturers Dawn Hesketh-Joslin ( Interior Design ) and Vivienne Cherry ( Advertising Design ) and their respective students would like to thank the following people for their continued time and support:
Jonathan Morrish – UK Design Manager – Viabizzuno Ltd
Paul Brackstone – Global Store Design Manager – Marks + Spencer Ltd
Dudley Roberts – Creative Director – DisplayPlan Ltd
Anne Rattigan – Chilfen Joinery Ltd
